The Awards Committee is formed by a group of educators with a variety of backgrounds.  The committee works diligently specifically on the task of selecting scholarship recipients.  The initial bylaws of this committee include the following:

  1. Any Committee Member discovering a conflict of interest concerning a given candidate shall make that conflict known to all other members and (s)he shall be excused from the decisions concerning that candidate.

  2. All Committee Members will verify the selected candidate meets all qualifications associated with the scholarship for which (s)he is being considered.

  3. This committee is responsible for reading/grading essays or other academic projects required of candidates.

  4. The Committee shall keep minutes of each meeting and shall submit said minutes to the Secretary of the Board within 10 business days following each meeting.

  5. The contact information of the final awardee of each scholarship shall be submitted to the Chair of the Committee and Board Member, Melissa Fabian, via email the same day the decision is finalized.

The Events Committee is formed by a group of business owners with a variety of backgrounds.  The committee works diligently specifically on the tasks planning fundraisers for scholarships, coordinating with third-party events such as festivals, and bringing awareness of  planned events to the general public.  The Chair of this committee is Adan Quintero, and he is required through bylaws to report all anticipated expenses to the Treasurer of the Board prior to committing the Corporation financially.  All final plans for any given event shall be subjected to a Board of Directors' vote and included in the minutes book.

The K/12 Resource Committee is formed by a group of homeschooling parents with a variety of backgrounds.  The committee works diligently specifically on the tasks of coordinating scholarships for resources which enrich academia for  students' enrolled in K-12 grade levels, who are the children of parents with terminal illnesses, permanent disabilities, or deceased.  The Chair of this committee is Billie Glazier.
