Our mission is to bridge students who have endured great loss with the resources to bring their dreams to fruition, because sometimes it does take a village.

Mission and Vision

Building the Village

Blue Phoenix Village, Inc, a 501c(3) non-profit corporation, was founded  based upon the conviction it is every adult's responsibility to strengthen the foundations of tomorrow's leaders. The Corporation sees higher education as a catalyst for positive change, a force that can transform the lives of individuals and families and advance the economic and civic health of societies. We believe that a community that truly recognizes the importance of higher education is one that ensures the doors to postsecondary opportunity are open to all who have the potential to succeed, regardless of economic background or lack of resources.

In pursuit of our mission and vision:

  • Blue Phoenix Village, Inc seeks to award an annual BP Village Scholarship to qualifying students for postsecondary education.  These efforts are achieved through community fundraising events through the labors of The BPV Events Committee and The BPV Awards Committee.

  • Blue Phoenix Village, Inc encourages third-party entities to sponsor scholarships by offering the service of managing the entry forms, screening applicants, and hosting ceremonies to distribute those awards.  This is accomplished through the efforts of The BPV Events Committee and The BPV Awards Committee.

  • Blue Phoenix Village, Inc provides information that students and families need to make financially sound educational choices. These efforts are achieved through collaboration with the financial-aid departments of multiple universities.

  • To those who share its vision, Blue Phoenix Village, Inc offers opportunities to participate in its realization through financial and in-kind support and volunteerism, and we recognize donors and sponsors at all organized functions so that consumers are aware of these charitable efforts while selecting their own daily resources.

  • Blue Phoenix Village, Inc identifies and collaborates with local entities to gain supportive and extracurricular resources for school-aged children of parents with medical, physical, or mental disabilities. Examples include but are not limited to:

    •  band camp,

    • music lessons,

    • art supplies,

    • sports equipment,

    • remedial tutors.
